Myth #1 - Getting a Vehicle Wrap will Damage My Paint
Many people think that vehicle wraps will damage their paint, when the opposite is actually true. Vinyl vehicle graphics will actually protect your vehicle's paint job; once the wrap is removed, you'll find the paint exactly the way it was when you applied the vinyl. The vinyl prevents weathering and sun damage to your paint. However, the exception is if your paint is already in bad condition.
Myth #2 - Vehicle Wraps Don't Last Very Long
Vehicle wraps can actually last anywhere from 3-7 years, depending on how you care for them. The life of the wrap is also dependent upon proper installation and the climate in which you live. If you live in a place with extreme temperatures or any other adverse condition, the lifespan can be slightly decreased, especially if you don't clean and care for your wrap.
Myth #3 - Vehicle Wraps Can't Be Removed Easily
One fear many consumers have is that once they get their vehicle wrapped they can't have wrap removed. The truth of the matter is that the wrap can be removed in the same way that it was applied. When you're ready to sell your car or change your business/brand, the wrap can easily be removed. However, we do recommend professional removal.
Myth #4 - Window Graphics are Unsafe
While you never want to obstruct the view of the driver, not all window graphics are unsafe. At ProDezigns, we use a perforated vinyl that allows for the driver of the vehicle to easily see through it. While you can easily see from the inside out, these window graphics are viewed by those outside the vehicle has a solid graphic. For safety reasons, the front windshield, as well as the forward driver and passenger windows should not have any graphics on them, but the rear windows and rear windshield offer a great place to display graphics.
Myth #5 - Leased Vehicles Cannot Be Wrapped
The wrapping of leased vehicles is actually quite common, particularly among bigger companies that lease their business or fleet vehicles. As mentioned above, the vinyl wrap can actually protect that factory paint job that typically comes with a leased vehicle. With that being said, it is important to read your lease to understand the details of your agreement, as different places have different rules.
Myth #6 - Vehicle Wraps are Expensive
While the initial investment in a vehicle wrap may seem a little expensive, the cost is less than getting a new paint job. In addition, when compared to other forms of advertising, vehicle wraps give you the most bang for your buck. It has been proven that the cost per impression of vehicle wraps is less than other forms of advertising such as billboards, television, radio and even newspapers.
Myth #7 - Vehicle Wrap Advertising Isn't Effective
According to the Traffic Audit Bureau for Media Measurement, vehicle wrap advertising can generate 30,000 to 70,000 daily vehicular impressions. In addition, polls have shown that 90% of travelers notice graphics on wrapped vehicles and 75% of consumers form impressions based on those graphics. When it comes to purchases, 30% f consumers base buying decisions on impressions they receive from company vehicles. With vehicle wraps, you can take your advertising with you anywhere you go. You can advertise in places where it would be impossible by any other means, such as huge shopping malls, sporting events or parades.
