10 Awesome Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade Floats for This Year

Thanksgiving is almost here and with the holiday comes some awesome traditions.  Of course there's the large feast featuring turkey, but also with the traditions comes the annual Thanksgiving Day Parade.  The parade started in 1924, with live animals from Central Park Zoo and since has grown into this amazing tradition with giant balloons and spectacular floats.  ProDezigns wants to share with you some of the best floats you can expect to see in this year's parade!

1. 1-2-3 Sesame Street, Sesame Workshop

Sesame Street, the most famous street in the world, celebrates its 45th season of helping kids grow smarter, stronger and kinder. Coming to 34th Street for Thanksgiving on the stoop of 123 Sesame Street are your favorite friends and Muppets kicking off the holidays and bringing laughter to children everywhere.  The float will include a performance by the cast and Muppets of Sesame Street.

2. At the Ball Game, Cracker Jacks Popcorn

Inspired by another American pastime – arguably the most famous of them all - this new float features a baseball theme that builds on the tradition of Cracker Jack snacks and family experiences at the ballpark. And in a contemporary nod to everyone’s favorite photo opportunity, the float includes a family taking a “selfie.”  The float will include live cameras for spectators to see themselves on a larger-than-life LED screen above the stadium scoreboard.

3. Dreamseeker, Cirque Du Soleil

The visually stunning flying ship of DREAMSEEKER by Cirque du Soleil returns to the line-up for another spectacular performance. Seeming to take flight thanks in part to giant wings, DREAMSEEKER comes complete with custom-designed trampolines and many more acrobatic secrets.  At 52-feet long, 23-feet wide and 35-feet high, the grand ship is one of the longest, tallest and widest floats in the Parade.  The float will feature performance by Acrobats and character artists of Cirque Du Soleil.

4. The Enchanting World of Lindt Chocolate, Lindt

A larger-than-life Lindt Master Chocolatier rises three stories above a delectable chocolate shop serving as the Puppet Master for chocolate delights. Orchestrating the creation of LINDT BEAR and other chocolate figures for the holidays, the puppeteer pulls the strings on life-sized marionettes and giant spoons in a dance of wonder. Float Facts: The Lindt Master Chocolatier figure moves and blinks thanks to a little Macy’s Parade magic and behind-the-scenes puppeteering.
Performer featured on this float is Tony Award winner and Broadway Superstar Idina Menzel.

5. Frozen Fall Fun, Discover

Hockey fans of all ages will be enthralled as they root for kids on the home team during this preview to the 2014 Discover NHL Thanksgiving Showdown. Transforming a hometown backyard into an ice rink for the ultimate holiday slap shot contest, the float comes complete with a giant Turkey goalie on defense. The skating surface is actually made of synthetic ice, a hard surface that can be skated on.
Performances by Pop/Rockers The Madden Brothers and NHL legends John LeClair and Pat LaFontaine will accompany this float.

Your Vehicle Wrap Questions Answered

Many people have used billboards, print ads, the internet and more for all their marketing needs. Custom vehicle wraps however, are a new concept for many.  ProDezigns is here to answer all your questions and concerns when it comes to vehicle wraps at the Lake of the Ozarks, Jefferson City and Columbia.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can my vehicle wrap be removed?

A: Vehicle wraps are removable, but we recommend having a professional perform the removal. When you want to update your wrap or are ready to sell your car, the vinyl can be removed the same way that it was applied.

Q: What is involved in getting a vehicle wrap for my car?

A: Vehicle wraps, whether it be for your car, trailer, bus or helicopter, are all comprised of three separate phases.  The first is the design phase, which includes getting accurate measurements for the vehicle and actual design of the graphics to be applied.  The second is the production phase, where the graphics are printed and then laminated to protect the vinyl from abrasions and UV rays.  The third phase is the installation, where the vinyl is actually applied to your vehicle.

Q:  Do I have to wrap my entire vehicle?

A: You can either purchase a full wrap or a partial wrap.  Anything less than something that covers the entire vehicle is normally considered a "partial wrap."  The nice thing about partial wraps is that we can design your wrap to stay within your budget.

Q: Will a vehicle wrap damage my paint?

A: In most cases, vehicle wraps will not damage factory paint jobs.  In fact, it will protect that paint. It is important to talk with the design professionals at ProDezigns and pre-test your paint job prior to wrapping with vinyl.  Paint in poor condition may fail when vinyl is removed.  For more on this topic, check out our blog titled "Vehicle Wraps Can Protect Your Factory Paint Job!"

Q: How long will it take to wrap my vehicle?

A: The time it takes to wrap a vehicle varies from project to project.  However, in general, most vehicle wraps can be installed in as little as 1-3 days.

Q: If my vinyl vehicle wrap graphics are damaged, can they be fixed?

A:  You can normally have any damaged pieces or panels of your vehicle wrap replaced after your vehicle is repaired.  Many times you won't have to redo the entire wrap as long as the damages are limited to certain areas of the vehicle.  If you find yourself in this situation, contact one of our design specialists for more information.

Q: How can I justify the cost of a vehicle wrap?

A: If you are using your vehicle wrap as a marketing tool, there is no more cost-effective method of advertising available.  Why not use your vehicle to its fullest potential, to gain you business! it has been proven that the cost per impression of vehicle wraps is less than other forms of advertising such as billboards, television, radio, yellow pages and even newspapers!

At ProDezigns, we strive to give our clients the highest level of service and satisfaction.  We hope this blog answered your questions about getting a vehicle wrap in Jefferson City, Columbia or Lake of the Ozarks areas.  If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to call us at 573-392-0500.

Protect Your Vehicle Wrap this Winter

Temperatures are dropping and soon that dreaded sheet of ice will be covering your car each morning.  Vehicle wraps in Jefferson City, Columbia and the Lake of the Ozarks areas are designed to withstand whatever mother nature throws as us.  Although the extreme Winter temperatures won't harm your vehicle wrap, what you do to your vehicle during these conditions could potentially be harmful.  ProDezigns is here to prepare you for taking the best care of your vehicle wrap you can this winter!

Ice Scrapers

When ice is present on your car windows, one of the first things many people do is reach for that handy ice scraper.  For most people this is great way to get rid of that ice fast.  These scrapers were designed to take everything off your windows, including your vinyl.  The scraper will almost certainly rip off or at the very least damage that vinyl.  The best way to avoid this problem, is to run the defrost or window heaters for awhile.  If ice or snow is still present after trying to melt it that way, use a soft brush to remove the excess snow or ice.

Road Salt

Here in Missouri, the roads can get pretty slick during the Winter months.  The city will often put down salt to help vehicles maneuver better and avoid accidents.  This road salt, however, can be quite damaging to eh vinyl vehicle wraps.  The salt can actually corrode the vinyl and also cause discoloration to the design if the salt is left untreated.  To avoid this issue, be sure to wash your car wrap regularly and keep it as clean as possible.

If you're Lake of the Ozarks, Jefferson City or Columbia vehicle wrap does become damaged this winter, contact ProDezigns about replacing it.  The great thing about our vehicle wraps is that if the damages are limited to certain areas of the vehicle, we can replace just the damaged pieces or panels rather than having to redo the entire wrap.  Missouri's BEST wrap shop is here to provide you with the highest level of service, satisfaction and personal attention with every project we do!

If you can drive it, ride it, pull it, fly it, or lift it, we can wrap it!

Better Than A Billboard!

Billboards and vehicle wraps at the Lake of the Ozarks, Jefferson City and Columbia have several things in common.  Both are marketing mediums that are quite noticeable. However, these types of advertising have a lot of differences too!  Here are several comparisons that will show you why our Missouri custom vehicle wraps are Better Than A Billboard!

1. Billboards are Stationary, but Vehicle Wraps are Mobile!

When it comes to choosing a Billboard, you have to pick one spot and that's where your marketing message will stay.  Billboards are stationary and your market is limited to the number of vehicles that drive by that location each day.  Many cars probably drive that route each day and after awhile will stop noticing your billboard.

With vehicle wraps, you are able to take your marketing message anywhere you want!  The mobility of vehicle graphics allows you to reach new audiences each day.  According to the Traffic Audit Bureau for Media Measurement, vehicle wrap advertising can generate 30,000 to 70,000 impressions per day!  Each time you turn down a different road or park your vehicle in a new location, you are reaching a new, different audience.  You have the ability to advertise in areas where it would be impossible by any other means, like huge shopping malls, sporting events or parades!

2. Billboards you Rent, but Vehicle Wraps you Own!

Billboards are a rented amount of space that must be paid regularly. The cost of that space depends on where the billboard is located; higher traffic areas are going to cost you more.  Plus many owners have a limit on how long you can lease it, therefore restricting your marketing message.

Vehicle wraps on the other hand, can last several years if maintained properly.  Rather than renting space, you actually own the graphics and the vehicle that they're on.  You have the ability to take your marketing message wherever you want without paying more for higher traffic areas!

3.Vehicle Wraps are More Affordable than Billboards!

The average cost of renting a billboard can range anywhere from $500-$8,000 per month depending on the location and how many people see it.  You will also have a one-time fee for the design and printing.  To rent this space for as long as a vehicle wrap will last, would cost you a fortune!

If you are using your vehicle wrap in Columbia, Jefferson City or the Lake area as a marketing tool there is no more cost-effective advertising method available, and why not use your vehicle to its fullest potential to gain you business! For a one-time fee, you'll have a marketing message that will last you years.  No monthly fees for rented space to worry about.  It has been proven that the cost per impression of vehicle wraps is less than other forms of advertising such as billboards, television, radio, yellow pages and even newspapers!

Take your custom graphics from Missouri's Best Wrap Shop with you anywhere you go! At Pro Dezigns we strive to give our clients the highest level of service, satisfaction and personal attention to detail with every project we do.  From concept to completion our award winning designers work closely with you to create a high-impact, custom promotional solution that best suits your individual marketing needs.  ProDezigns is making your business capital mobile using full color graphics on a vehicle wrap...and we are Better Than a Billboard!

6 Tips on Caring for Your Vehicle Wrap

Vehicle wraps at the Lake of the Ozarks are a great way to get your business name out there!  In order to present a positive message, you want to keep your vehicle wrap looking great.  Just like the rest of your vehicle, the wrap requires regular cleaning and maintenance. Here are some tips for longer-lasting, vibrant color on your vehicle wrap!

How to Care for Your Vehicle Wrap

1. Wash your wrap on a regular basis.

You should wash your wrap once a week or more if your wrap is regularly exposed to a lot of dirt and pollutants.  Be sure to always use an automotive sponge or a clean, soft cloth to wash your wrap. Rinse the wrap thouroughly with clear water and use a silicone squeegee to minimize water spots. To finish, dry the wrap with a clean microfiber cloth. Hand washing with a gentle automotive detergent is safer and more thorough than taking it through a car wash.

2. Clean bird droppings and other stains immediately.

Letting stains such as bird droppings sit for too long will make them harder to remove and could permanently damage the wrap.  To clean, soak the affected area for a few minutes with warm, soapy water to loosen the contaminants.  Be sure to rinse completely and dry the wrap with a microfiber cloth.  If the contaminant won't come off with the soapy water, try using 2 parts rubbing alcohol with one part water.  Be sure to test any cleaning solution on a small area that's not easily noticeable to ensure the cleaner won't harm your wrap.  Never use solvents or oil based cleaning products!

3. Wipe off fuel spills immediately.

Hand wash the affected area quickly.  If you let the spill stay on the wrap too long, it can degrade the vinyl.  A quick wipe with a wet paper towel as the gas station will get you by until you can get home to do a more thorough job.

4. Never use these cleaning products.

When caring for your Missouri custom vehicle wrap, you never want to use any of the following products: solvents, oil based cleaners, kitchen & bathroom cleaners, oven cleaner, orange oil or engine degreaser.

5. Park your car in a garage or under a canopy if possible.

Although vehicle wraps are designed to withstand the elements, its best to keep your car protected. Excessive amounts of time under the sun or other outdoor elements, such as rain, smog, debris and road pollutants from passing cars, can degrade the wrap, especially on the roof, trunk lid and hood. The horizontal areas are a magnet for pollutants, which are intensified by sun exposure.  If you must park your vehicle outside, look for shady parking areas.

6. Remove the wrap if you notice brown or rust colored areas.

Wraps can turn brown due to prolonged exposure to acid from pollutants in the air.  Typically this can be avoided by following the tips for cleaning above.  However, if you do notice these areas on your wrap, it is best to remove it before it damages the paint underneath.  Often times you can replace just the affected part of the wrap rather than the entire vehicle wrap.

CLIENT TESTIMONIALS

"In our business we often talk about the "WOW" factor, which is when someone goes above and beyond to make sure our customers are 100% satisfied. I recently picked up our 93.9 The Eagle station vehicle and was "WOWed" by it. The moment I pulled into their parking lot I was amazed by how much it just popped! Not only did it look great, but Jim and the crew kept reminding me that if the wrap gets scratched or anything to let them know so they can fix it. He emphasized how much pride they take in their work so they want their wraps to look their very best out in public. Thanks."

"We have tried vehicle wraps for our company the first time this year. We have either partially or totally wrapped 4 vehicles this year (3 trucks and 1 boat).  We have been totally satisfied with our wraps and all the new business!  We sent one of our newly wrapped trucks to the east coast and you could tell where our truck was located on the US map based on all the email leads we received from people state to state. We sent the same driver in one of our other trucks two weeks earlier that just had black lettering on it and received zero email requests. People call us to be in parades instead of us calling them. I am going to have to put an automatic hand waver in my truck because everyone waves at me now. The response of my wraps and graphics really opens up a whole new line of marketing that I am seeing a huge return on investment! It has been the single best advertising investment we have ever made!! I am totally hooked and plan on wrapping lots more! Thank you ProDezigns!"
