Caring for Your Vehicle Wrap

You just got your vehicle wrapped, and you're ready to start spreading the word about your business everywhere you go! How do you keep that Missouri custom vehicle wrap looking great though? Keep reading to learn how to care for your wrap.

Keeping Your Vehicle Wrap Clean

The most important step in caring for your vehicle wrap is keeping it clean. If you're driving your vehicle everyday, it's going to be exposed to a lot of dirt, grime and pollutants, so you'll want to wash it at least once a week. When cleaning your vehicle wrap, make sure to use caution as to not damage the vinyl. Avoid taking your vehicle wrap through an abrasive automatic, drive-thru car wash. Hand washing your vehicle wrap is the best method. Be sure to spot clean tough spots, like bird dropping, tree sap, etc., as quickly as possible. Letting them sit for too long will make them harder to remove and could damage the vinyl. The best way to get the spots up is to let them soak in warm, soapy water to loosen the contaminant. After washing, be sure to rinse the vehicle completely and dry it with a microfiber cloth. Not only will cleaning the wrap make it last longer, but this vehicle wrap is a representation of your company, so you want it looking its best!

Avoiding Damage from the Elements

While the vinyl used to make vehicle wraps is quite durable, you'll want to try your best to keep it out of the elements as much as possible. This includes sun, rain, snow, etc. Excessive amounts of time in the sun could degrade the wrap on the roof, trunk lid and hood. When parking outside is necessary, try to find a shady area. When possible, park your vehicle in a garage or under some type of covering. This way your vehicle wrap is protected from the sun's rays, hail, ice, etc. By limiting your vehicle wrap's exposure to the elements, you'll ensure a longer life and more bang for your marketing buck! In rare cases, if your vehicle wrap starts to turn brown or rust, it's likely due to prolonged exposure to acid. Many pollutants in the air contain acid, and when you don't regularly wash your vehicle wrap, you can experience some color change or rust. If this happens, it's advised you have that damaged panel replaced.

The 5 Worst Things You Can Do to Your Wrap to Shorten Its Life

Vehicle wraps are a great way to market your business. However, keep in mind that your vehicle is now an impression of the way you do business. You need to take care of that wrap and keep it looking nice. With the proper care, your Lake of the Ozarks vehicle wrap will have a nice long life. Here are the 5 worst things you can do to your wrap to shorten its life:

1. Letting Grease, Dirt and Grime Set.

Especially in conjested urban or industrial areas, increased smog, pollutants and particulates in the atmosphere will cause reduced durability of the wrap. Cleaning your wrap regularly will ensure a longer life for your vehicle wrap in Jefferson City, Columbia or the Lake of the Ozarks.

2. Leaving It Out In the Sun All Day.

At ProDezigns we do apply a laminate to protect the vinyl from abrasions and UV rays, but over exposure to the sun could result in a shorter life for your vehicle wrap. At high elevations, such as mountain areas, the UV damage is increased versus exposure at sea level. The air there is thinner, so there is less UV filtering and damage increases significantly.

3. Taking It Through An Automated Car Wash.

Avoid the automated brush washes. The brushes may catch the edge of the decal or graphics and create a failure point. The brushes could also cause scratches on your vehicle wrap. The best way to clean a vehicle wrap is the old fashioned way, by hand. Use a mild detergent and water mix with a soft cloth or sponge. Make sure the detergent you use is free of abrasive components, has a pH balance between 3 and 11, and be free of strong solvents or alcohols. Be sure to rinse the vinyl thoroughly with clean water when finished and allow the water to dry naturally.

4. Using a Pressure Washer.

Excessive pressure or spraying at the wrong angle with a pressure washer can cause damage and create failure points in your graphics. If you must use a pressure washer make sure the pressure is below 1200 psi and the temperature is below 180 degrees F. You should also keep the nozzle at least 12 inches away from the edges and keep it perpendicular to the graphic. The best option is to just wash it by hand to not risk damage.

5. Applying Non-Approved Wax.

While wax may make your car shine, that's not always the case with vehicle wraps. It is important that you choose a wax that will not harm the vinyl. Make sure the wax you're using does not contain petroleum distillates. Products like Turtle Wax Ice are actually a combination waterless wash and wax, and are a great option as long as the vehicle isn't too dirty. Using a proper wax can increase the life of your vehicle wrap by providing added UV protection.

The professionals at ProDezigns will help you understand the best way to care for your custom graphics at the Lake of the Ozarks. Having nice clean, damage free graphics sends out a positive message to all who see your mobile advertising. Contact ProDezigns today at 573-392-0500 to start getting maximum marketing results!

Top 5 Reasons to Wrap Your Vehicle

Why would you want to wrap your vehicle as opposed to getting a custom paint job? ProDezigns custom vehicle wraps can offer many benefits that custom paint jobs cannot offer. When it comes to advertising, vehicle wraps are the way to go! Here are the Top 5 reasons why people might choose to wrap their vehicle:

1. Advertising Medium

Unlike many other forms of advertising, when you purchase a vehicle wrap, you own the graphic and the vehicle. You have the ability to advertise in areas that wouldn't be possible by any other means. According to the Traffic Audit Bureau for Media Measurement, vehicle wrap advertising can generate 30,000 to 70,000 daily vehicular impressions. A recent poll also showed that 90% of travelers notice graphics on wrapped vehicles and 75% of consumers form impressions about a company based on the fleet graphics.

2. Resale Value

Vehicle wraps will actually protect a factory paint job! If you choose to paint your company vehicle, you will have to pay to repaint it when you are ready to sell it. When you're ready to remove the vehicle wrap, you will see how the paint job looks as good as the day you installed the wrap!

3. Vehicle Protection

While a rock kicked back from the car in front of you can damage your custom paint job, the durability of a vinyl vehicle wrap can usually withstand that type of abuse. A vehicle wrap will also resist fading and oxidation. With a custom vehicle wrap from ProDezigns, you can easily remove the wrap when you're done using it or ready to sell and the exterior of your vehicle will look as good as new.

4. Cost Effective

A high-quality paint job can cost you a few thousand dollars. For the amount of detail you'd get with a custom vehicle wrap, you would end up paying a lot more for custom airbrushed graphics. If you're using your vehicle wrap as a marketing tool, there is no more cost-effective advertising method available. When properly cared for, there aren't any on-going costs associated with maintaining a vehicle wrap at the Lake of the Ozarks. Unlike other advertising mediums, vehicle wraps are a one-time investment because they do not expire or need renewed.

5. Installation Time

When getting a custom paint job, you're allowing yourself to be without a vehicle for up to a couple weeks or longer depending on the detail involved. With a ProDezigns custom vehicle wrap, installation generally takes 1 to 3 days. Wrap time does vary widely from project to project though.

Increase your exposure with a vehicle wrap by consulting with our experts regarding vinyl graphics, car decals and more. Contact Missouri's BEST wrap shop today at 573-392-0500. 5 Different Ways to Utilize Your Custom Vehicle Wrap

Vehicle wraps can be a strategic marketing tool for your business. In addition to driving them around, there are other ways you can use your vehicle wrap to maximize the effectiveness of your marketing! It is important to constantly be thinking about how your Lake of the Ozarks custom vehicle wrap can enhance lead generation for you business. Here are several tips to try:

1. Drive Around More.

It's obvious that the more you drive your wrapped vehicle, the number of people that see it will increase. The average person will spend more than 43,800 hours sitting at stop lights. Imagine all the people you could reach by driving past them or even sitting next to them at the stoplight. During a quiet week, run some errands in the company vehicle.

2. Think About Parking.

Every time you go to park your custom wrapped car in Jefferson City, Columbia or Lake of the Ozarks, consider the best spot to park for visibility. Even a simple stop at the grocery store can last anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour, so be sure to choose a space close to the road where people passing by can see it. Corners are also an effective place to position your vehicle since several directions of traffic will be able to spot it.

3. Maximize Visibility.

If an employee goes on vacation, don't hide their fleet vehicle behind the building. Instead park it out front and use it for extra signage. You could even take it to a high traffic area and park it there for a few hours. Your wrapped vehicle doesn't have to be moving for people to notice it.

4. Motivate Buyers with Incentives.

You can create special deals or prizes for those that spot your vehicle wrap. Keep in mind the incentive needs to be viable and useful to your target audience. Doing this will also help you track how well your vehicle wrap advertising is working and maybe show you ways to increase the effectiveness of the campaign.

5. Embrace the Digital World.

You can even tie your contests in with social media to increase your exposure not only physically, but also digitally. Ask your fans to post sightings of the vehicle to your Facebook page. You can offer a discount or special prize to the best photo submitted.

With a custom wrap from ProDezigns, you'll be able to maximize your marketing efforts with a relatively low investment compared to other advertising avenues. From partial to full wraps, we offer different packages to meet your budget and marketing needs. Contact Missouri's BEST Wrap Shop today at 573-392-0500 to start capitalizing on your capital!

Getting to Know Jimmy Wheat

When it comes to auto advertising at the Lake of the Ozarks, Jimmy is your guy!  But what does he do outside of work, how does he wind down from a busy day in the shop and what keeps him going? We decided to ask owner of Pro Dezigns, Jim Wheat some questions so you can get to know him a little better.

1. Where did you go to school?

I went to school in Arizona.  That's where I grew up.  I attended Apache Junction High School, home of the Prospectors!

2. What kind of music do you like to listen to?

Rock and Roll!  I like a lot of the older stuff such as Bob Seger.

3. What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

When I'm not working, I like messing around with my '71 Camaro.  I also enjoy riding my Harley whenever I get a chance.

4. What motivates you at work?

I would say my team motivates me.  The feeling of not wanting to let them down, that we are all working together toward a common goal keeps me pressing forward.  It keeps me in check knowing that they hold me accountable and I also hold them accountable for their part.

5. Who is your family?

I am married to Jennifer Wheat and we have one beautiful daughter together named Kassie.

6. What is your favorite restaurant?

I would have to say its probably The Fish and Company because my good buddy Dale Blue owns it and plays there.  If you've never heard him play, you need to!  It's always a good time with him around.  My second favorite would have to be Camp Bagnell for their delicious wings!

7. Who is the one person that you admire most?

My dad would probably be the person I admire most.  He thinks I can do anything...and I think he's right!

8. What is your favorite movie and why?

I would have to say Transporter is my favorite movie.  Nothing's better than high speed and action!

9. Are you involved in any charitable groups?
There are a few different groups we do stuff for.  One of the main ones would be Relay for Life; we do donations for them.  We also help with some different school programs.

Jimmy loves cars and bikes, so you know yours are in good hands when you choose ProDezigns for your custom vehicle wraps at the Lake of the Ozarks!  He'll treat your vehicle like its his own and will create that awesome look you are going for.  Give him a call today to get started on your car, truck, bike or boat graphics!
