Caring for Your Vehicle Wrap

You just got your vehicle wrapped, and you're ready to start spreading the word about your business everywhere you go! How do you keep that Missouri custom vehicle wrap looking great though? Keep reading to learn how to care for your wrap.

Keeping Your Vehicle Wrap Clean

The most important step in caring for your vehicle wrap is keeping it clean. If you're driving your vehicle everyday, it's going to be exposed to a lot of dirt, grime and pollutants, so you'll want to wash it at least once a week. When cleaning your vehicle wrap, make sure to use caution as to not damage the vinyl. Avoid taking your vehicle wrap through an abrasive automatic, drive-thru car wash. Hand washing your vehicle wrap is the best method. Be sure to spot clean tough spots, like bird dropping, tree sap, etc., as quickly as possible. Letting them sit for too long will make them harder to remove and could damage the vinyl. The best way to get the spots up is to let them soak in warm, soapy water to loosen the contaminant. After washing, be sure to rinse the vehicle completely and dry it with a microfiber cloth. Not only will cleaning the wrap make it last longer, but this vehicle wrap is a representation of your company, so you want it looking its best!

Avoiding Damage from the Elements

While the vinyl used to make vehicle wraps is quite durable, you'll want to try your best to keep it out of the elements as much as possible. This includes sun, rain, snow, etc. Excessive amounts of time in the sun could degrade the wrap on the roof, trunk lid and hood. When parking outside is necessary, try to find a shady area. When possible, park your vehicle in a garage or under some type of covering. This way your vehicle wrap is protected from the sun's rays, hail, ice, etc. By limiting your vehicle wrap's exposure to the elements, you'll ensure a longer life and more bang for your marketing buck! In rare cases, if your vehicle wrap starts to turn brown or rust, it's likely due to prolonged exposure to acid. Many pollutants in the air contain acid, and when you don't regularly wash your vehicle wrap, you can experience some color change or rust. If this happens, it's advised you have that damaged panel replaced.

3 Tips for Designing an Eye-Catching Vehicle Wrap

Vehicle wrap advertising is growing as one of the top marketing avenues for businesses to use. The best vehicle wraps are those that grab your attention, whether it be through color or an image. In today's blog, ProDezigns offers 3 tips for designing an eye-catching vehicle wrap!

1. Choose the Right Color Scheme.

Big and bold is not always better. When it comes to vehicle graphics, you want to put some thought into it. What message are you trying to get across to your consumers? How can you best represent your brand? The colors you choose for your custom vehicle wrap at the Lake of the Ozarks are a key factor in how people react to your wrap, and your brand. To learn more about how color affects your advertising, check out one of our previous blogs titled, "The Meaning of Colors in Marketing."

2. Select the Perfect Font.

Just like color, the font you choose plays an important role in the effectiveness of creating an eye-catching wrap. The most important point is to make the font easy to read. Most people that see your wrap are probably going to be speeding by on the road. In addition, you need to think about your target market - who are you trying to reach with your wrap? If your target market is female, you might go for a lighter, more elegant font. If your goal is persuade men to buy your product or service, you might go for something a little more bold and straightforward. You also want to think about what your providing, and what font matches well with product or service you're trying to sell. If you're trying to sell tools, you'll probably want to stay away from the fancy, curly type fonts.

3. Pay Attention to Placement.

Think about where people will see your vehicle wrap the most. If people are sitting behind you at the stoplight, they're going to see the back of your vehicle. If they are sitting beside you at the light or passing you on the road, they're going to see the side of the vehicle. These are the best two spots to make sure you have your information. You want to make sure that your wrap is designed so that someone understands your message in a matter of seconds. When you're advertisement is moving, people don't have a lot of time to take it all in. The placement of words and graphics on your vehicle is very important. The simpler you make your wrap, the better off you'll be when it comes to grabbing someones attention quickly.

When you hire ProDezigns, our designers will take care of all these details. We'll work with you to create a custom promotional solution that meets the needs of your business and your brand.
