Getting to Know Jimmy Wheat

When it comes to auto advertising at the Lake of the Ozarks, Jimmy is your guy!  But what does he do outside of work, how does he wind down from a busy day in the shop and what keeps him going? We decided to ask owner of Pro Dezigns, Jim Wheat some questions so you can get to know him a little better.

1. Where did you go to school?

I went to school in Arizona.  That's where I grew up.  I attended Apache Junction High School, home of the Prospectors!

2. What kind of music do you like to listen to?

Rock and Roll!  I like a lot of the older stuff such as Bob Seger.

3. What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

When I'm not working, I like messing around with my '71 Camaro.  I also enjoy riding my Harley whenever I get a chance.

4. What motivates you at work?

I would say my team motivates me.  The feeling of not wanting to let them down, that we are all working together toward a common goal keeps me pressing forward.  It keeps me in check knowing that they hold me accountable and I also hold them accountable for their part.

5. Who is your family?

I am married to Jennifer Wheat and we have one beautiful daughter together named Kassie.

6. What is your favorite restaurant?

I would have to say its probably The Fish and Company because my good buddy Dale Blue owns it and plays there.  If you've never heard him play, you need to!  It's always a good time with him around.  My second favorite would have to be Camp Bagnell for their delicious wings!

7. Who is the one person that you admire most?

My dad would probably be the person I admire most.  He thinks I can do anything...and I think he's right!

8. What is your favorite movie and why?

I would have to say Transporter is my favorite movie.  Nothing's better than high speed and action!

9. Are you involved in any charitable groups?
There are a few different groups we do stuff for.  One of the main ones would be Relay for Life; we do donations for them.  We also help with some different school programs.

Jimmy loves cars and bikes, so you know yours are in good hands when you choose ProDezigns for your custom vehicle wraps at the Lake of the Ozarks!  He'll treat your vehicle like its his own and will create that awesome look you are going for.  Give him a call today to get started on your car, truck, bike or boat graphics!

The Meaning of Colors in Marketing

Color is vital to any sign or other marketing material.  Each color has a deep meaning to the subconsciousness of consumers.  It is important to choose colors that will meet your business needs. For example, if the majority of your consumer base is male, you probably don't want to use pink and purple for your color scheme. Below are some items from SignIndustry.com for you to think about when choosing colors for your custom vehicle wrap at Lake of the Ozarks.

Branding with Colors

Color is extremely important for branding.  When someone looks at a logo, the color is the first thing their eyes see.  Colors are key with any type of signage, especially vehicle wraps because they have a psychological impact on customers.  Experts say that colors can be used to communicate the theme of what you're promoting, whether it be the lowest prices in town or the best quality around.

Many large brands have already established a color and many people associate that brand with that color.  For example, the T-Mobile is associated with the color pink, while John Deere is associated with the color green.  In certain industries, such as the fast food industry, you may see a similarity in colors.  McDonald's, Wendy's and Burger King all use a combination of reds, yellows and oranges because red stimulates your appetite and yellow tells you to keep moving so it fits the quick aspect of these businesses.  Home Depot chose orange because it demands the customers attention. Whatever color you choose for your advertising vehicle wrap, you want it to pop so that it draws the customer to look more closely.

Deeper Meanings of Colors

According to SignIndustry.com, the consumer has 1/16 of a second to get a glimpse of a product as they walk by a store shelf.  The same thinking goes with Lake of the Ozarks car wraps because unless you are parked, consumers will only have a short amount of time to receive your message. So we know that the eye is drawn to color, but what do the colors communicate?  Understanding the deeper meaning of colors will help you choose the most appropriate combinations for your business.

Black - Black typically communicates authority and power.  It is a good choice for typefaces because it contrasts nicely against most light backgrounds making it easy to read from long distances.

Red - Red is a color of high emotion that stimulates shoppers and appetite.  Red is also known as a "hot" color which can signify low prices.

Blue  - Blue is actually considered the most popular color in the world.  It is a "cool" color that communicates elegance and quality.  It is also a calming color.  Lowe's chose blue as a competitive move against Home Depot's bright orange.

Green - Green is rarely used in retail settings except lawn and garden or food establishments. Green symbolizes health and nature.

Yellow - Yellow is another attention grabber, but experts say this color should only be used as a background. Yellow typefaces are hard to read.

Purple - Purple signifies royalty, luxury and wealth.  Therefore, it is inappropriate for businesses that promote value and savings.

Brown - Brown is a good choice for industrial applications becuase it is earthly and signifies reliability and genuineness.  UPS is a good example of the use of the color brown.

The key to color marketing is to tap into what people already associate with certain colors and use that to your advantage.  Certain colors are generally accepted to mean one thing and if your product or service doesn't match with that, you could confuse your customers.  In addition to choosing the right colors, you want to make sure your message is consistent through all your marketing efforts. Whatever color scheme you choose for your vehicle wrap, should be reflected on your website and print materials.  Here at ProDezigns, we will custom design your vehicle wrap to meet the needs of your business.  Give us a call today to get started!
